Salary: $75,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We require candidates to have formal training in machine learning, including expertise in dimensionality reduction, clustering, embeddings, and sequence classification algorithms. Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers is essential. Candidates should possess practical knowledge in Natural Language Processing methods and libraries like spaCy, word2vec, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Flair, and BERT. Additionally, hands-on experience with large language models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and benchmarking, particularly using frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex, is expected. A strong foundation in Python is necessary, along with familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. An understanding of data modeling principles and complex data structures is important, as well as proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and vector stores (e.g., Postgres, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, ChromaDB). Knowledge of Scala, Spark, Ray, or other distributed computing systems is highly beneficial, as is experience with API development, containerization, and machine learning deployment. Familiarity with ML Ops or AI Ops is also preferred.

• In this role, I will develop and implement LLM-based applications specifically designed for our in-house legal team. I will fine-tune and deploy large language models to improve their effectiveness in processing legal texts. Evaluating and assisting in maintaining our data assets, along with training and evaluation datasets, will be part of my responsibilities. I will design and construct pipelines for preprocessing, annotating, and managing legal document datasets, collaborating closely with legal experts to understand their requirements and ensure that our models align with domain-specific needs. I will conduct experiments and assess model performance to foster continuous enhancements. Interaction with other technical personnel and team members will be vital in finalizing requirements and translating moderately complex product specifications into software designs. I will also adopt development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews suited for production environments.

The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $140,000, contingent on experience and the qualifications of the selected candidate. This role is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program based on performance.
